Hudson High School Reviews

Definitely above average high school filled with above average students on the whole. The teaching staff is average. There are a few good ones but they are offset by several militant teachers union members who bring it down. Overall a very good school.

I am a Hudson High alum. I attended Hudson City schools from second grade on and can say that while it can be overly competitive and demanding at times, the education I received left me exceptionally prepared for college and beyond. I am currently in law school and have seen classmates struggle in college or law school while I have no trouble. The parents and teachers at Hudson are very involved; there is a wonderful selection of extra curricular activities and a huge variety of opportunities for students of all ages. Like the town, Hudson High School is very safe and while it can be very competitive, it is generally an environment that fosters learning and challenges kids to succeed. Learning is not mocked and being the 'smart kid' is not only socially acceptable, it is expected.

The teachers at the High School need to be more proactive when the student is having difficulty. Often the parents are not contacted when a problem arises. When a parent calls a teacher there is often no response.

The Hudson School District has well-educated teachers, friendly staff, and excellent administration.

Great school for A and B students, or those eligible for gifted programs. Flip side is that school lets dyslexic and ADD kids fall through the cracks. Pearents of Learning Disabled kids in this district tend to have the money to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on outside tutoring, which is how learning disabled kids get by.

A tremendous, challenging program. My daughter graduated in the top 10 and entered Williams College last year (the most selective liberal arts college). This school is worth the high taxes.

Academics have a wide range here. The teachers are very well qualified. The math department could use some help, but students still score better than the average student in Ohio. Graduation rate is high. School is safe and well kept. Atheltics and clubs play a big part in students life. This school is a 9.5 on a 10 point scale.

Excellent academics. Top 4% of schools in the country for offerings in advance placement curriculum. 95%+ of graduating seniors go on to college. Outstanding music programs and full slate of athletics. The marching band plays yearly for the Buffalo Bills and has won top honors at several national competitions. Parents in the community are extremely involved in the education process with numerous groups that help support school functions. Competition is intense for top scholastic honors, and in 2003 the graduating seniors at Hudson were awarded $3.5 million in scholarship grants. Overall an outstanding public school system, but you pay for it financially!

Hudson is a great school with a great learning enviroment. The teachers, staff and students all strive to achieve the highest and set the standards a level higher than the rest. Having been a student this and these my final few days at Hudson High, I realize what a truly great school that Hudson was. I would love someday for my own children to be as blessed to learn in such an enviroment that Hudson creates for its' students.
