Gilles-Sweet Elementary School Reviews

My son joined to 1st grade in the month Janvuary and made a tremendous progress over 6 months. I really appriciate mrs ludwig the class teacher. She is awesome.

My son went to kindergarden there lasy year, and is starting 1st grade this year. It has been a good experience for both of us. I really enjoy the new facility, and teachers.

My children have received a top quality education from Fairview schools. The teachers they have had are some of the best any school can possibly have. Parkview can proudly boast of its outstanding teaching staff that includes Mrs. Fishell, Mrs.Lavelle, Mrs.Kempton,Mrs.Dzurnak,Mrs. Ponsart,Mr.Warofka,Mrs.Salica as well as the outstanding direction from their Music,Art 7 Physical Education departments! What a top quality group of dedicated and caring teachers! These teachers and many others throughout the district not only educated our children, but have and continue to show our children what it truly means to have a lifelong love of learning. They have left an indelible mark on our children's lives!

I have only 1 thing say, I am so thankful I could afford to get my child out of there. He was put down, not encouraged, the pricipal, Mr. Karris refused to listen, offer advice or help. The only good thing about this school is Dr. D. I Thank god for him. It was dirty, run down, no lunch program, no 6th grade camping trip, you call this a school?

There are many wonderful things that go on at Parkview Intermediate School! I have had four children who have gone through the system and there are many qualified teachers. They are dedicated to the children and go above and beyond what is expected of them. I challenge anyone who thinks teaching is an easy job, to step inside a classroom at Parkview School on any given day and see the dedication the staff gives to our children. Shame on anyone who believes the teachers are part of the administration who spends our money foolishly. Take this up on Lorain Road! Teachers are expected to do more with less everyday and Parkview Teachers go above and beyond the call of duty for our children.

Mrs. Fishell takes time from weekends to celebrate the joy of reading with K-8 children. Educators talk about 10 to 12 hour days. Until I met Mrs. Fishell, this claim was an unverifiable myth. My children attended fourteen K-12 schools in four public and parochial school districts, and there is not a more dedicated teacher. Unfortunate Parkview customers, not even Mrs. Fishell can counter balance nonchalant leadership. Despite a gaudy $11,500 / student, Parkview s verifiable academic performance is far below similar local schools. Since FP continues to employ educators who are permitted to abuse their customer s resources (children and tax dollars), I can only recommend avoidance of Parkview.

My child had Mrs. Peggy Fishell for her 4th grade teacher at Parkview. My child blossomed under her guidance. My child chooses to read on her own now. Mrs. Fishell has been Teacher of the Year and she deserves it. Mrs. Fishell helped establish an after school teacher-taught Ohio Proficiency practice. The children also had transportation home afterwards. She also helped with the school's talent show and was very fair to the children. She has monthly reading groups in her home with her past students. She funds her reading program with her own money. She hands out 'educational rewards' based on games, participation, and more. She also provides pizza for a snack. Many children attend her Read-Ons. She is one committed teacher! Mr. Karis, the principal, earned Principal of the Year. He holds monthly Lunch with the Prinicpal, which I would recommend attending. This school offers too many school activities to list.
